Pradeep Panthi, PhD

Biography
Pradeep Panthi holds a PhD in International Development from the Graduate School of International Development at Nagoya University, where he also worked as a teaching assistant. He obtained a master’s degree (distinction division) and a bachelor’s degree in business studies from Tribhuvan University.
Dr. Panthee joined Policy Research Institute (PRI) as a Research Fellow at Centre for Economic and Infrastructure Development Policy in April 2025. Previously, he worked at Asian Development Bank Institute (ADB Institute) as a Consultant (Economist) and Research Associate. His other work experience includes managerial and mid-level positions in the bank and financial sector, corporate sectors and academic positions at universities in Nepal. His research interests include international finance, macroeconomics, monetary and financial economics, development economics, development finance, institutions and econometrics. His research primarily focuses on economic development through trade, investment, and finance; development through institutions and policy management; and the dynamics of international capital flows.
