Biography
Dr. Prabhat Raj Dahal is a geospatial data scientist specializing in biodiversity mapping, climate change, and disaster modelling. Dr. Dahal is working as an Associated Research Fellow at Center for Natural Resources and Technology Policy, in Policy Research Institute.
He holds a PhD in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology from Sapienza University of Rome, funded by the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship. He has worked with leading international organizations, including BirdLife International, IUCN and UNICEF contributing to projects in conservation planning, climate resilience, and disaster risk reduction. His expertise lies in remote sensing, spatial modeling, and Earth observation data, with research published in top scientific journals. Dr. Dahal has developed high-resolution habitat maps, climate impact assessments, and disaster modeling tools, integrating citizen science and big data analytics. His interdisciplinary approach combines scientific research, policy support, and data-driven decision-making to address global environmental challenges. Through international collaborations, he continues to advance biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, and disaster preparedness efforts worldwide.
