Niranjan Devkota, PhD

Biography

Dr. Niranjan Devkota received his PhD degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2018. At Policy Research Institute, he is working as a Research Fellow at the Center for Economic and Infrastructure Development Policy.

Dr. Devkota is a distinguished researcher specializing in climate change adaptation, agriculture, poverty, vulnerability, labour markets, and behavioural economics. He has served as a Research Associate at the National Planning Commission, Visiting Professor at Mid-Western University and Nepal Open University, and Research Head in various academic institutions in Kathmandu Valley. With over 15 years of experience, he has contributed to governmental and non-governmental projects in research and consultancy roles.

Dr. Devkota is the lead author of several books and journal articles primarily focussed on research methodology in economics.  He has published his research papers extensively in national and international indexed journals and serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE. As a seasoned reviewer and research methodology trainer, he actively mentors graduate and Ph.D. students, fostering academic excellence and capacity building in research.
