Biography
Dr. Maheshwar Giri is an economist specializing in economic research and policy analysis. Dr. Giri is working as an Associate Research Fellow at Center for Economic and Infrastructure Development Policy, in Policy Research Institute.
He earned his Master’s in Development Economics in 2016 and submitted his PhD thesis in 2024 at South Asian University, New Delhi. His PhD thesis examines the agrarian institutions in Nepal and their impact on agricultural performance. His research employs quantitative methods to generate policy insights on land tenure, extension services, and market flow. As a passionate educator, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Microeconomics, Environmental Economics, and Econometrics. With expertise in survey design, econometrics, data analysis, and impact evaluation, Giri’s research spans on issues of agriculture, land relations, rural livelihoods, energy transitions, and market dynamics.
