Ashok Pandey

Biography
Ashok Pandey,is working as a Research Fellow at Center for Governance and Federal Affairs Policy. He worked at Policy Research Institute as Associated Research Fellow for the past four years focusing on mental health policy, legislative performance at local and provincial levels, pandemic preparedness, governance, and democracy institutionalization in Nepal.
Pandey has an academic background in Public Health with a Masters’ degree from Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore, a bachelors degree from Nepal, and a Diploma course from the University of Tampere and IoM. He has completed certified trainings in Meta-Analysis and Living Systematic Review (University of Catania, Italy) and Clinical Trial and Ethics (Indian Council of Medical Research, India). He served for six years as a Senior Research Officer at Nepal Health Research Council and, through a Norwegian research fellowship, spent at Child Sight Foundation, Global, Dhaka, establishing a Health Research Ethical Board that remains active. With support from World Health Organization, he helped set up Nepal’s Clinical Trial Registry, ensuring mandatory approval for all clinical trials. He has received a Knowledge Action Change (KAC) Research Fellowship (UK) and a Climate Change Fellowship (The Energy and Resources Institute, India). In 2020, he was honored with the Mrigendra Samjhana Medical Trust Young Researcher Award.
