Research Agreement Reached on Gap Analysis of the Science-Policy Interface in Health and Agriculture Sectors

On 20 December, PRI and independent expert Dr. Suraj Bhattarai reached an agreement on the research project entitled “Gap Analysis of Science-Policy Interface in the Health Sector of Nepal.” The overall objective of this project is to study and take stock of the scientific knowledge available and the state of the transformation of the knowledge into public policies in Nepal. Based on the study, policy recommendations will be made for the generation of knowledge for policy and the application of knowledge – or evidence – in public policy formulation.

Another agreement was reached on the day with Dr. Uttam Babu Shrestha to undertake a gap analysis of the science-policy interface in the agricultural sector with the aforementioned objectives.

The research projects undersigned separately by Dr. Bhattarai and Dr. Uttam Babu Shrestha and, Dr. Mukunda Kattel, Acting Office Manager of PRI, will be coordinated by Dr. Deepak Kumar Khadka, Head of Research Division and Senior Research Fellow, on behalf of PRI. Dr. Khadka will also serve as a co-investigator of the research projects.
