Policy Research Institute Delegates Met with the Hon. Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Mr. Ghanashyam Bhusal

Today, on 16 July 2020, the Policy Research Institute (PRI) was invited by the Hon. Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), Mr. Ghanashyam Bhusal, at his office in Singhdurbar. PRI’s Executive Chairperson Dr. Bishnu Raj Upreti, Head of Research Department Dr. Deepak Kumar Khadka, Office Manager Purushottam Tiwari and Head of Information and Knowledge Management Department Dr. Mukunda Raj Kattel attended the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss possible collaboration between the PRI and MoALD on generating evidences for formulating agricultural policies. Both institutions agreed that PRI would generate evidences for the MoALD’s plan of revising the existing Agriculture policy.

PRI also offered facilitating informed and focused debate among the key stakeholders for making any laws and policies.

PRI appreciates the openness and willingness of the Hon. Minister to use evidences while making and or revising policies. We hope all other policy-making authorities will follow the same.
