Policy Research Institute and Tribhuvan University Signed an MoU

On 7 April 2021, Policy Research Institute and Tribhuvan University entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to foster long-term and sustained collaboration in the area of policy research and innovation. Committed to their respective founding principles (of producing high-quality human resources through quality education and research, in the case of TU, and public policy reform and innovation through research-based evidences, in the case of PRI), the two organizations agreed to collaborate – and support one another – in areas of policy research, academic dialogue for public policy, research capacity development, promotion of research standards and ethics, interfacing academic research with policy research and educational programmes, including university-level research.

These collaborative engagements will take place at the university level as well as at the level of central departments, affiliated campuses, schools and research centres and will be guided by the modus operandi mutually agreed upon.

Prof. Dr. Shiva Lal Bhusal, Rector of TU, and Dr. Bishnu Raj Upreti, Chairperson of PRI, signed the MoU at the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dharma Kant Baskota and Registrar Prof. Dr. Peshal Dahal at the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Kirtipur. Present on the occasion were Prof. Dr. Umesh Kumar Mandal, Executive Director, Center for Research, TU, Prof. Dr. Khadga KC, Executive Director, Centre for International Relations, TU and Mr. Yogendra Prasad Dahal, Chief, Information and Public Relations Division, TU; and, Dr. Deepak Kumar Khadka, Head of Research Department, PRI, Dr. Mukti Rijal, Senior Research Fellow, PRI, Dr. Khaganath Adhikari Senior Research Fellow, PRI, Dr. Hari Sharma Neupane, Senior Research Fellow, PRI, Mr. Laxman Bhattarai, Office Manager, PRI and Mr. Bimal Chandra Sharma, Librarian, PRI.
