An Interaction Concludes on Start-Up Policy, 2079

On 20 March 2023, Policy Research Institute organized an interaction on the draft of Start-Up Policy, 2079 prepared by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies. The aim of the interaction was to collect feedback and suggestions on the draft from all stakeholders concerned. In the event moderated by Dr Kalpana Khanal, PRI’s Senior Research Fellow and Head of the Policy Centre for Economic and Infrastructure Development, Professor Dr Achyut Wagle presented an expert-review of the draft policy and prepared the ground for interaction. Among speakers and commentators on the draft were Dr Narottam Aryal of Kings College, Dr Prakash Shrestha of Nepal Rastra Bank and Dr Damodar Regmi of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

The interaction elicited a number of suggestions and feedback that the draft should respond to before it is framed into a law. For specific suggestions and more details on the interaction, please refer to this Note.
