A training program for the staff and interns of the Policy Research Institution conducted

The Policy Research Institute conducted a one-day training program with three sessions on topics related to the distinction and interrelationship between policy research and academic research, relevance of media analysis in policy research, and motivation and time management in public service, as part of the staff capacity development program series.
In the training program held at Hattiban Himalaya Height Resort in Lalitpur, Pharping, the resource persons invited by the Institute, Prof. Dr. Peshal Khanal, Mr. Laxman Dutt Pant, and Mr. Pradeep Shrestha, gave training respectively on the distinction of policy research and academic research, media analysis, and public service motivation and time management. Prof. Dr. Khanal analyzed the philosophical and practical differences and similarities between policy research and academic research based on the research cycle and shed light on the quality aspect of policy research. Mr. Pant gave a presentation on the introduction to media analysis, importance of media analysis in qualitative research, and media analysis methods. Similarly, Mr. Shrestha gave a presentation on strategies to maintain balance between personal, professional and social lives of employees and the importance of motivation in public service. A total of 35 staff and interns of the institute participated in the training program.
