A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Policy Research Institute and the Federal Parliament Secretariat for research collaboration on policy, legislation, parliamentary practices and the exchange of intellectual resources

The Policy Research Institute and the Federal Parliament Secretariat today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for research collaboration and resource sharing. The area of collaboration and sharing included research on legislation and parliamentary practices; rapid study and consultation on policy issues; policy dialogue; research capacity development; exchange of information, data, library, and intellectual resources; and the utilization of the parliament’s experience and knowledge in policy research; policy innovation; cooperation with parliamentary committees on matters related to policy and law-making.

The MoU was signed by the Joint Secretary, Ms. Babita Mishra, and the Under-Secretary, Mr. Bikash Bohara, from the Federal Parliament Secretariat, and the Office Manager, Mr. Laxman Bhattarai, and the Head of the Research Department, Dr. Hari Sharma Neupane, from the PRI. In the brief discussion that took place after the signing, Mr. Sudarshan Khadka, the secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, made suggestions regarding possible issues for policy research, policy dialogues, and the meetings with the parliamentarians for this year. The secretariat and the institute will discuss further and decide on the programs soon.
