Policy Research Institute and Nepal Health Research Council Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Policy Research Institute and Nepal Health Resource Council signed, today, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to institutionalise collaboration between the two institutes. As per the MoU, the parties will undertake joint policy research on various issues of public health, develop knowledge products based on research findings and draw recommendations addressing various aspects of public health. The parties to MoU have, in addition, agreed to the following joint undertakings.

  1. Co-design and co-organise training, workshops and other capacity building events on policy research
  2. Co-develop and co-organise public policy dialogues on public health issues
  3. Share, exchange and utilise technical expertise and other resources available in both organisations

To organise and operate the activities mentioned above – and others envisioned by the MoU – both the organisations have agreed to generate financial resources based on mutual understanding.

Dr Bishnu Raj Upreti, PRI Chairperson and Dr Pradip Gyawali, Executive Chief, NHRC signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutes. Present on the occasion were Dr Hari Sharma Neupane, PRI Research Department Head, Dr Meghnath Dhimal, NHRC Research Section Chief and researchers of both institutes.
